BBC EastEnders stars you may recognise in video games from Danny Dyer in Grand Theft Auto to Kellie Bright – My London

Video games

EastEnders is an institution in British television and beloved by Londoners.

And the stars of the show are all familiar as residents of Walford.

But several of them had several roles in other films and shows and even video games.

So next time you boot up your favourite game, listen for one of these actors’ voices.

Scott Maslen

Scott plays Jack Branning on the soap

Scott is currently playing Jack Branning on the soap.

He’s been a part of the show since 2007 and has also appeared on The Bill and Strictly Come Dancing’s eighth series.

Scott also has two video game roles under his belt.

He appeared in the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 2 as Claude Speed and as Quinn Abercromby in the action game Reign of Fire.

Bill Murray

Johnny Allen, one of EastEnders’ biggest villains to date, was played by Bill Murray.

The actor had previously appeared on The Bill for nearly a decade before playing the kingpin of Albert Square between 2005 and 2006.

And he also had a major role in the Call of Duty series of video games.

In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, he played recurring character Captain John Price.

He reprised his role in the games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 3.

Danny Dyer

Danny is famous for several ventures, but is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Mick Carter since 2013.

The star also presents the BBC game show the Wheel and has published several autobiographies.

And he also has a role in the Grand Theft Auto franchise in which he voices Kent Paul.

He’s starred in both Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002 and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2004.

Kellie Bright

Kellie plays Linda Carter on the soap

Kellie plays Mick’s wife Linda Carter on EastEnders and has done so since 2013.

She also had a main role on the Archers radio soap for nine years and was runner-up on the 13th series of Strictly.

And in the video game world, Kellie has voiced characters across several franchises.

She first played Elise in Fable III back in 2010, then voiced Grace, Idunna, Guardsman Brennan, Ella and Ginnis in Dragon Age II in 2011.

In the same year she joined the cast of Xenoblade Chronicles as Sharla, a role she reprised in 2020 in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Tracy-Ann Oberman

Tracy-Ann’s career in British television is impressive.

Aside from playing Chrissie Watts on EastEnders from 2004 to 2005, she’s also starred in Doctor Who, the Bill, Friday Night Dinner and many more.

Her theatre credits are just as impressive with her most recent role being as Camilla in The Windsors: Endgame.

And she’s even found the time to be in the 2019 video game Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers as Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn.

Tiana Benjamin

Tiana was on EastEnders for four years

Tiana played Chelsea Fox on EastEnders from 2006 to 2010.

And you might also recognise her as Angelina Johnson in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

She reprised her role as Angelina in a video game in 2007, voicing the character in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Mimi Keene

Mimi is currently starring on Sex Education

Perhaps most known for playing Ruby Matthews on Sex Education, Mimi portrayed Cindy Williams on EastEnders from 2013 to 2015.

She’s also appeared in two video games.

The actress had voice roles in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 1 and 2.
