In a lot of ways, the Ford F-150 Lighting is just a massive play-thing for adults. It looks fun to drive, has all sorts of buttons and screens, and it comes with batteries included. But now the Blue Oval seems to be following Tesla’s precedent by outfitting its electric pickup truck’s infotainment system with video games.

The news was recently made public, including on LinkedIn, where Ford’s VP of global EV programs, Darren Palmer, shared a preview of the game being played by one of his children.

“Some cute little games now on the F150 Lightning. Proving a hit with my kids in final testing,” Palmer wrote.

From the short clip, it looks like there is a racing-style game where players use the volume knob (which makes a kind of slurping noise when it’s rotated) to change lanes with the on-screen vehicle to collect coins and avoid collisions. But Palmer’s preview mentions “games,” indicating the system comes stocked with a few options.

Unlike Tesla and Mercedes-Benz, which fell under the scrutiny of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration when it was demonstrated that their systems allowed for drivers to play games while behind the wheel of the moving cars, Ford recently confirmed to Jalopnik that the “games are only active when the vehicle is in Park.”
