Hideo Kojima has launched his own podcast – Video Games Chronicle

Hideo Kojima has launched his own podcast called Hideo Kojima’s Radioverse.

The new show will be exclusive to Amazon’s Audible service and is currently only available in Japan.

There have been no plans announced to dub the podcast into other languages so non-Japanese fans can listen too.

Kojima’s first guests are members of 2BRO, a Japanese YouTube channel with over 3 million subscribers.

The show’s promotional blurb reads: “Hideo Kojima, a game designer who continues to create new ways to play, has created a new show on Amazon Audible.

“Each episode will feature a variety of guests who will have in-depth discussions on topics like games and movies, which you can’t hear anywhere else.”

In January, Kojima teased his plans for 2022, including a “radical” new project and experimentation with video and radio (of which the latter was presumably Radioverse).

Kojima Productions recently announced it had established a TV and film studio based in Los Angeles, and according to Kojima its work will begin in earnest this year.

The Metal Gear creator wrote on Twitter: “Although 2021 was still a very difficult year for us, we managed to deliver the release of [Death Stranding Director’s Cut] for PS5 safely even in this COVID situation while we were solemnly preparing and experimenting with new titles.”

He added in another post: “This year, I’m going to start a new work in earnest, and move to the next level of experimentation with a radical project. I’m also hoping to get the video team going. And I may start doing something like a radio project?”

Kojima, who turned 58 years old in August, marked the occasion by vowing to continue creating for as long as possible.

“Although my body is failing me, my creativity is not waning yet,” he said. “Until my brain loses its creative power, I’ll continue to strive to create things. That’s my instinct, and that’s what I love to do.”
