Mondays in Midland: Nicholas Basaraba was born in Wyoming, has designed video games – Midland Daily News

Nicholas Basaraba is a senior at H.H. Dow High School.

He lives in Midland with his father and stepmother, Shannon and Sandy Basaraba, and his grandmother, Karen Basaraba.

“I like living in Midland; it’s fun,” Nicholas said. “I wish the weather was nicer and more consistent, but the schools are super nice.”

His hobbies include playing video games.

He has designed some games as well and enjoys coding and programming. He also works with Blender and Unity programs, which assist with 3D design and animation.

Nicholas works as a server assistant at One Eighteen at The H Hotel. Some of his job duties include bussing, delivering food and hosting on occasion.


He also enjoys spending time with his friends.

After high school, Nicholas would like to start out at Delta College, studying computer science or computer-aided design. He is considering Michigan Technological University to further his education after he completes his studies at Delta.


He has a younger sister who is a sophomore at Dow High, Brianna Basaraba.

He also has an older half-brother and half-sister who live in Texas and two stepbrothers who live in Minnesota.

Nicholas was born in Jackson, Wyoming. His family moved to Alpine, Wyoming, then a few years later to Idaho Falls, Idaho. They moved to Midland in 2014.
